Presentation of the new Editorial Board of Estudios de Psicología
Written by Ricardo Rosas

As the journal’s new editorial team, we take on the challenge of continuing the success achieved by Estudios de Psicología, through its important contributions to the development of Social Sciences, and especially of Psychology. It is for us a great honor to carry on with the work of the journal Ángel Rivière founded in 1980.

We would like to thank the outgoing editorial board, leaded by Alberto Rosa, for their promotion of Estudios de Psicología, which has boosted it to an ISI impact factor of 1.220. Given this important accomplishment, we feel responsible for working along the same tracks in order to consolidate the recognition Estudios de Psicología has achieved.

Our editorial line has some new features. We intend to strengthen the journal’s character as one that fosters the exploration of new knowledge frontiers within our discipline, regarding both theoretical and methodological innovations, and one that incorporates multidisciplinary views both of the different psychological trends and of the dialogue with other disciplines.

The journal will feature four thematic sections:

Theoretical reviews or positioning articles: oriented towards the promotion of points of view about the issues or problems related to psychology in general, or new developments in the frontier of psychology.

Research articles: they may present a new theory, new data, new methods, or any combination of these; the journal will prioritize publication of empirical studies that present data supporting new theories or findings advancing the frontier of psychological science.

Brief research reports: empirical results coming from new investigations will be accepted, and will be positively considered inasmuch as they represent innovations in either approach or method.

Research micro-reports and commentaries: the former may present empirical results from brief experiments; while the latter may discuss or complement articles and reports previously published in the journal.

Moreover, starting 2012, at least one of the journal’s annual issues will be dedicated to a monographic theme. We invite you to submit interesting subjects proposals to:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
